₹100-cr amusement park, resort project planned in Vizag
The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with M/s Modern Masti Private Limited to set up a modern amusement park and resort in Visakhapatnam with an investment of about ₹100 crore.
Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh announced the agreement during the IAAPI (Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries) Expo-2026 in Mumbai. The project forms part of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s Swarna Andhra Tourism Vision-2047. Through this initiative, the government aims to strengthen tourism and entertainment infrastructure in the state.
The company will develop the project across nearly 50 acres in Visakhapatnam. In addition, the plan includes a luxury resort with around 100 rooms and a large amusement park. The project is expected to create direct employment for about 300 people.
Meanwhile, Durgesh said Modern Masti Private Limited, headquartered in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, began operations in 2017. Since then, the company has gained nearly nine years of experience in the entertainment sector. It operates amusement parks, gaming zones, restaurants, and resorts under the Masti Land brand as part of the Modern Group. The promoters together bring more than four decades of experience in the industry.
Furthermore, the minister said Visakhapatnam is steadily emerging as a global coastal tourism hub. Therefore, the state government has invited investors to establish mega amusement parks and other entertainment projects in the city.
He also said the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA) will fast-track approvals for the project under the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Policy 2024–2029. The policy offers several incentives. These include up to 25 per cent fixed capital investment subsidy, power supply at industrial tariff, and 100 per cent reimbursement of net SGST.
