The 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-IV) for 395 NCC cadets concluded successfully at INS Vishwakarma under the leadership of Surg Cdr A. Narasimha Rao, Commanding Officer, 4(A) Naval Medical Unit NCC. The camp brought together cadets from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam districts of Andhra Pradesh for an intensive programme focused on physical fitness, mental strength, and leadership development.

Cadets participated in rigorous training across multiple disciplines, including drill, yoga, physical endurance, communication, navigation, small arms handling, first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). They also received Naval Orientation, familiarising themselves with naval procedures and protocols. A key feature of the camp was hands-on experience at INS Vishwakarma’s advanced training facilities, including Damage Control, Fire Fighting, and Practical Workshops, helping cadets develop technical skills and resilience in challenging situations.

The camp promoted inclusivity, with Senior and Junior NCC cadets training together, ensuring equal opportunities for skill enhancement and leadership growth. This approach reinforced the NCC’s values of unity, discipline, and patriotism while fostering teamwork and mutual respect among participants.

The closing day featured a lively cultural programme where cadets performed music, dance, and other acts, showcasing creativity, camaraderie, and the spirit of celebration after a demanding training schedule.

At the closing ceremony, Cmde Sumanta Roy, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Visakhapatnam, emphasised that the lessons learned—discipline, responsibility, and commitment to service—would guide cadets in their future endeavours, whether in the Armed Forces or civilian careers. He encouraged cadets to uphold the spirit of the NCC and continue building well-rounded, responsible individuals dedicated to nation-building.
