Medicover Hospitals Launches “Young Heart Protection Program” in Visakhapatnam
Medicover Hospitals, located in MVP Colony, Visakhapatnam, has launched the “Young Heart Protection Program,” an initiative aimed at raising heart health awareness among the city’s youth. The event, which garnered enthusiastic support from the local community, featured Indian international cricketer Mr. Kona Srikar Bharat as the Chief Guest. Also present was Dr. M. Srujana Devi, Medical Superintendent at Medicover Woman and Child Hospitals and Miss Vizag 2025, who emphasized the growing health concerns among young people.
Mr. Bharat stressed the importance of maintaining good health, stating, “Health is true wealth,” and highlighted that regular heart checkups should not be limited to athletes but should be a priority for all young individuals. He noted, “Programs like this will guide the youth toward a healthier future,” underscoring the value of early intervention.
Dr. Srujana Devi echoed these concerns, commenting on the rising prevalence of lifestyle-related diseases, particularly heart ailments, among the youth. “Awareness programs like this are critical to combating these issues and helping young people take charge of their health,” she said.
Dr. Hemanth Behra, Consultant Cardiologist, shared alarming statistics about the increase in heart attacks among people under 30. “A balanced diet, regular physical activity, stress management, and timely checkups can help prevent these issues,” he advised. “This program offers an excellent opportunity for early detection and prevention.”
As part of the initiative, Medicover Hospitals is offering a comprehensive range of health screenings for youth, including ECG, 2D Echo, Lipid Profile, Blood Sugar, and Blood Pressure tests, in addition to consultations with cardiologists. The hospital aims to empower young people with the knowledge and tools to protect their heart health.
Hospital leaders, including Group CBO Mahesh Degloorkar, AP Regional Director N.
