Waltair Division launches Amrit Samvaad to boost passenger engagement

Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway on Tuesday launched Amrit Samvaad, a citizen-focused initiative under Special Campaign 5.0. The programme aligns with the Amrit Kaal vision and the “Panch Pran” outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed at transforming public services through active citizen participation.

Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra said the initiative provides a platform for passengers to engage directly with railway authorities and share suggestions to improve travel experience. “The programme will focus on sustainable solutions, energy efficiency, better integration with city transport networks, and opportunities for enhanced passenger amenities,” he said.

The campaign was inaugurated at Visakhapatnam Railway Station on 2nd October, where officials stressed the importance of involving passengers in shaping railway services. The first session at Duvvada Railway Station saw Divisional Commercial Manager Pooja Singh interact with commuters and rail users, including ZRUCC members. Passengers who offered noteworthy suggestions were recognized and felicitated during the session.

Amrit Samvaad will continue till 31st October 2025 across all major stations of the Waltair Division. The month-long initiative aims to strengthen the relationship between passengers and railway authorities, ensuring concerns and suggestions are reflected in operational decisions.

Officials said feedback collected during the initiative would help improve service quality, station facilities, and incorporate modern, sustainable practices across the division. Passengers are encouraged to actively participate and share ideas to help shape the future of rail travel in the region.
