Lambasingi to Get Eco-Friendly Dome Glamping for Tourists

Tourists visiting Lambasingi, often called the “Ooty of Andhra,” will soon have a new way to experience its misty hills and cool climate. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) is introducing geodesic dome glamping, offering world-class, eco-friendly accommodation alongside its existing cottages.

The project will feature 15 dome units, each covering 750 sq. ft, with beds, furniture, and modern amenities, along with a children’s play area and electric carts for internal transport. Expressions of interest have already been invited, and construction is expected to be completed within three months of finalizing agreements. Contractors will also handle land permissions and deliver ready-to-use units.

APTDC divisional manager G.V.B. Jagadish emphasized that the domes will be strategically located in hilly areas to allow tourists to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Lambasingi. “The geodesic dome structures are designed to blend seamlessly with the landscape, offering panoramic views of the surrounding hills and forests,” Jagadish stated.

Tourism expert Dr. R. Suresh Kumar, highlighted the growing trend of glamping in India. “Glamping offers a unique blend of luxury and nature, attracting tourists seeking comfort without compromising the natural experience,” Dr. Kumar explained. “Lambasingi’s cool climate and scenic beauty make it an ideal location for such an initiative.”

The project aligns with sustainable tourism practices by promoting eco-friendly accommodations. The use of geodesic domes, known for their energy efficiency and minimal environmental impact, underscores APTDC’s commitment to preserving Lambasingi’s pristine environment while providing modern amenities to visitors.
