Visakhapatnam Gears Up for CII Partnership Summit with Citywide Makeover

Visakhapatnam is all set to welcome industry leaders as the city undergoes a major development and beautification drive ahead of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit, scheduled for November 14-15, 2025.

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) recently approved projects worth around Rs 33 crore, aimed at upgrading infrastructure and enhancing the city’s overall appeal.

High-traffic areas such as RK Beach Road, Siripuram, Jagadamba Junction, and the Collectorate are witnessing significant changes. Roads are being resurfaced, walls, footpaths, and electric poles are painted, and central medians are upgraded with decorative greenery.

Streetlights are being repaired and new ones installed, while public toilets are being renovated to ensure cleanliness and hygiene. GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg stressed the need for timely execution, saying, “We have directed officials to prioritize these works. This is about creating a sustainable urban environment, not just the summit.”

Mayor Peela Srinivasa Rao added, “Our goal is to present Visakhapatnam as clean, modern, and welcoming. Every visitor should leave with a positive impression.”

The civic body highlighted that the improvements are for the long term, benefiting both residents and tourists. A spokesperson said, “This initiative is part of our broader vision to raise urban living standards. People will enjoy safer, cleaner, and more attractive public spaces long after the summit.”

Mayor Rao called on citizens to support the efforts, urging, “We want everyone to take pride in their city. Together, we can make it a destination that impresses all visitors.” With less than a month remaining, GVMC is confident that Visakhapatnam will be ready to shine as a modern, vibrant coastal city.
