VMRDA Launches PPP Project for 50-Storey Luxury Tower in Madhurawada

The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has launched a major Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project. It has invited residential developers to submit proposals for a 50-storey upscale tower in Madhurawada. The move follows recent government allotments to IT firms in the city, signaling strong demand for premium housing.

In an interview with Coastal Times, former VMRDA Commissioner K.S. Viswanathan said, “Visakhapatnam is becoming one of the fastest-growing business hubs in Andhra Pradesh. The city is transforming and attracting significant domestic and international investments. With the establishment of Bhogapuram International Airport, our growth direction is clear.”

He added, “While the government focuses on boosting IT and other sectors, VMRDA ensures infrastructure keeps pace. Housing is a high-demand area. We aim to support developers in launching high-quality projects with premium amenities.”

The proposed tower will become the tallest residential building in the city. It will occupy a 4.07-acre site near Pebble Towers in Madhurawada. The project will feature over 475 apartments, including 3 BHK, 4 BHK, and duplex 4 BHK units. All units will offer unobstructed views of the Bay of Bengal and the surrounding valley.

Planned amenities include a clubhouse, concierge services, a duplex guest apartment, swimming pool with deck, children’s play area, futsal court, cycling and jogging tracks, and landscaped gardens.

Viswanathan said, “The PPP model gives private partners flexibility to design the project and make key business decisions. We aim to balance infrastructure development with housing needs, targeting the upscale segment.”

As Visakhapatnam becomes a preferred real estate destination, VMRDA expects the tower to set a new benchmark for luxury living and support the city’s rapid growth.
