Penn State University Delegation Visit to GITAM University
A delegation from Penn State University, one of the world’s top 100 universities, visited GITAM (Deemed to be University) on Wednesday to strengthen partnerships and explore new academic collaborations. The two universities already run a joint degree program.
The Penn State team discussed expanding student and faculty exchange programs, promoting joint research, and launching new initiatives. They also highlighted opportunities for students to gain global exposure and experience international academic standards.
The delegation included Amanda L. Moore, Associate Director of Graduate Admissions; Wendy Moynihan, Global Engagement Coordinator; and Dr. Ray Venkataraman, Professor of Marketing. They met students from GITAM’s engineering and management schools and shared insights about Penn State’s programs, research, cultural immersion activities, and scholarships.
They praised GITAM students currently enrolled in Penn State programs for their strong academics and smooth cultural integration. The team also noted the growing number of Indian students choosing Penn State.
The delegation met GITAM leadership, including Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eroll D’Souza, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Y. Goutham Rao, and Registrar Prof. D. Gunasekharan, to discuss future research collaborations and joint programs. Dr. Ravikanth, Deputy Director of GITAM Other Career Options, highlighted the shared focus on innovation, academic excellence, and global education.
The visit is expected to strengthen academic programs, research partnerships, and opportunities for students and faculty at both universities.
