Navy Day Celebrated with ‘SARGAM’ Musical Evening

The Eastern Naval Command hosted its annual symphonic concert SARGAM on Saturday (December 29) at the Samudrika Auditorium. The event drew a packed audience as part of the Navy Day 2025 celebrations.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan attended as the chief guest. He was received by Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, who is overseeing this year’s Navy Day events. The Deputy Chief Minister praised the Navy’s outreach efforts and its role in strengthening maritime security along the eastern coast.

The evening featured a wide-ranging performance by the Eastern Naval Command Band, led by Commander Satish Champion. The band moved between classic martial tunes, Indian classical pieces, and contemporary orchestral music. The mix showcased the discipline of military music and the musicians’ creativity, earning steady applause throughout the concert.

Several pieces were arranged specifically for the occasion. They highlighted naval heritage and the spirit of service. Solo performances and coordinated ensemble sections gave the audience a clear sense of the talent within the command’s music unit.

The concert drew civilian dignitaries, central government officials, and serving and retired personnel from the Navy, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Many guests described the event as one of the most engaging cultural programmes of the Navy Day calendar, noting the band’s precision and the warm, festive atmosphere.

SARGAM has grown into a signature event for the Eastern Naval Command. It brings the armed forces and the local community together through music. This year’s edition ended with a standing ovation, reflecting the strong public interest in Navy Day activities across Visakhapatnam.
