Traffic diversions, parking plan for India–New Zealand match
City traffic police have announced traffic diversions and parking arrangements for the India–New Zealand match at ACA–VDCA Stadium, PM Palem, on January 28, 2026. With nearly 28,000 spectators expected, restrictions will begin at 12 noon.
“Motorists not attending the match should avoid the Madhurawada stadium stretch and use alternate routes,” a traffic official said.
Heavy and commercial vehicles from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Anandapuram will not enter the city via Anandapuram. “They will be diverted on NH towards Anakapalli through Shontyam, Pendurthi, and Sabbavaram,” the official said.
Buses and small commercial vehicles from the same side must turn left at Marikavalasa and proceed through Zhurang Junction and Thimmapuram, then along Beach Road via Rushikonda and Sagar Nagar.
Cars, two-wheelers, and autorickshaws should use the Pepsi Cutting near Car Shed, pass through Midhilapuri Colony, and the rear road of MVV City, and join NH-16 via Law College Road. “Panorama Hills and Rushikonda are an alternate route,” the official added.
Heavy vehicles from the Anakapalli side will be diverted at Lankelapalem towards Anandapuram via Sabbavaram, Pendurthi, and Shontyam.
“Buses and commercial vehicles from Visakhapatnam towards Anandapuram, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam should take the Hanumanthuwaka–Arilova–Mudasarlova–Adivivaram route,” police said.
Private vehicles from the city heading towards Anandapuram may use the Adivivaram route from Hanumanthuwaka or turn right at Hanumanthuwaka, Visakha Valley, or Endada junctions and travel via Beach Road, Thimmapuram, and Marikavalasa to join NH-16.
“VVIP vehicles will park at A Ground and VIP vehicles at B Ground. General ticket holders from the city side must park at the Vizag Convention Centre on NH-16,” the official said.
Additional parking is arranged at Sanketika Engineering College grounds, GVMC parks in ASR Nagar and Ratnagiri Housing Colony, Polishetty Venugopala Rao Ground, MVV City Double Road, and Law College Road. Media parking is near Gates 10 and 11, and duty officials will park near MVV Builders Apartments.
RTC special buses from the city will run via Beach Road and IT SEZ to Law College Road. Buses from the Srikakulam side will come through Marikavalasa and Thimmapuram,” police said.
“Vehicles at Sanketika Engineering College will exit via Vijetha Supermarket and Car Shed. City-bound traffic will move through Endada,” the official added. “We request spectators to follow the advisory and plan travel in advance.”
