Vizag Food Festival to be held from September 5 to 7
Visakhapatnam: Food lovers and tourists have a reason to rejoice as the Vizag Food Festival 2025 is set to take place from September 5 to 7 at the MGM Grounds, behind VMRDA Park on RK Beach Road. The festival will be open daily from 5 pm to 10.30 pm, offering a blend of local and international cuisines, cultural performances, and interactive experiences.
Officials from the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department said the festival aims to position Vizag as a premier gastronomic and cultural destination. “Cultural programmes will also be organised to attract tourists, alongside food stalls representing local and international cuisines,” a spokesperson said.
Vijay Mohan, President of the Tours and Travels Association of Andhra (TTAA), highlighted the broader impact of the festival. “The event is not just about food; it is an opportunity to showcase Vizag’s vibrant culture and hospitality. Local businesses, from hotels to small-scale food entrepreneurs, will benefit from increased footfall, and tourists will leave with a unique taste of our city,” he said.
Pawan Karthik, representing the Hotels Association, confirmed the participation of leading hotels. “All-star hotels will participate, offering curated menus and special dishes. There will also be chef competitions, giving local talent a platform to innovate and gain recognition,” he said.
Adding the voice of enthusiasts, foodie and local blogger Ananya Reddy shared, “I’m particularly excited about the mix of street food and gourmet options. Festivals like these give us a chance to explore flavours from across the world without leaving our city.” Another visitor, Raghav Sharma, a chef by profession, said, “Events like this inspire local chefs to experiment. It’s wonderful to see young talent getting recognition alongside established hotels.”
The three-day festival promises something for everyone. Families can enjoy music, dance, and traditional performances, while food enthusiasts can savour street food favourites, fusion dishes, and gourmet creations. Organisers expect thousands of visitors from across Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states, making the event a significant boost for tourism and the local economy.
“Events like these put Vizag on the map as a destination for culinary tourism,” added K. Vijay Mohan. “We hope it becomes an annual celebration that locals and visitors look forward to every year.”
