Hare Krishna Movement Visakhapatnam to Host First-Ever Flower Decoration Contest for Radha Saptami
The Hare Krishna Movement, Visakhapatnam, will host a unique Flower Decoration contest at Hare Krishna Vaikuntham, IIM Road, Gambheeram, Anandapuram, on Sunday, August 31, as part of the Radha Saptami celebrations. This marks the first time such an event is being organized in the city, featuring decorations inspired by the themes of Janmashtami and Radhashtami, celebrating the divine bond of Radha and Krishna.
Sri Yaduraj Dasa, Vice President of the Hare Krishna Movement, shared that the contest will be held in two categories: Children (12–16 years) on Saturday, August 30, and Women (16 years and above) on Sunday, August 31, with both sessions scheduled from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
Participants are required to create garlands and bouquets using only natural flowers within designated spaces. Garlands will be fixed at 5 ft., while bouquets should fit within 1 ft. x 1 ft. spaces, and participants will have a maximum of two hours to complete their arrangements.
Judging will focus on creativity, cleanliness, adherence to the theme, use of natural flowers, and overall decorative appeal. Cash prizes will be awarded during the Radhashtami celebrations: First Prize – Rs 50,000, Second Prize – Rs 40,000, and Third Prize – Rs 25,000.
