MP Sribharat Calls for Preservation of Temple Traditions
Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat on Saturday urged the newly appointed Trust Board of Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Ammavari Devasthanam to uphold the temple’s traditions and further enhance its spiritual stature. Describing the shrine as the presiding deity temple of North Andhra, the MP said its sanctity and customs must be preserved with utmost care.
Sribharat was speaking after attending the oath-taking ceremony of the newly constituted Trust Board at the temple premises. Before the event, he offered special prayers to Goddess Kanaka Mahalakshmi and received prasadam.
Mr. Kandula Nagaraju was unanimously elected Chairman of the Trust Board, while 13 other members also took the oath. The oath of office was administered by Endowments Department Deputy Commissioner and Executive Officer K. Shobharani. Addressing the gathering, the MP said temple rituals, customs, and spiritual practices formed the foundation of Sanatana Dharma and should not be compromised under any circumstances. He also stressed the need to improve facilities and ensure convenient and hassle-free darshan for devotees visiting the temple.
Expressing his wishes for the welfare of the region, Sribharat said he prayed for peace, prosperity, and happiness in Visakhapatnam district and across Andhra Pradesh with the blessings of Goddess Kanaka Mahalakshmi.
Among those present were Vamsikrishna Srinivas, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, Seethamraju Sudhakar, and other dignitaries.
