ABVP demands central probe into NEET-UG 2026 paper leak

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Tuesday demanded a time-bound and impartial investigation by central agencies into the alleged paper leak and irregularities surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 examination.

Andhra Pradesh State secretary Y. Venkata Gopi, in a strongly-worded statement, said reports casting doubt on the confidentiality and credibility of the examination were deeply concerning. He said any compromise with the sanctity of entrance tests was unacceptable and amounted to gross injustice to lakhs of aspirants.

Gopi urged the Central Government to take stringent action against all those found culpable — including examination mafias and their alleged backers — and called upon the National Testing Agency (NTA) to ensure complete transparency throughout the investigation.

Pointing to the far-reaching consequences of such lapses, the ABVP leader said irregularities in high-stakes examinations like NEET dealt a severe blow to students’ morale and imperilled their futures. He called for a series of systemic reforms — bolstering technical security, enforcing stricter question paper confidentiality, intensifying monitoring of examination centres, and ensuring clear institutional accountability — to prevent any recurrence.
