GVMC Commissioner for early completion of Bhogapuram road works
Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg has directed officials to expedite the development of crucial connectivity roads leading to Bhogapuram Airport and ensure their early opening for public use.
The projects under review include the widening of the Vepagunta–Pinagadi road and the construction of a new 6.4-km road from Vepagunta to Juttada.
On Sunday, the Commissioner inspected the ongoing works in the Pendurthi zone along with GVMC Chief Engineer P.V. Satyanarayana Raju, APTRANSCO Superintending Engineer, and officials from the Engineering and Town Planning departments.
During the inspection of the 4-km Vepagunta–Pinagadi road widening, Mr. Garg directed officials to remove all impediments to the work, including electric poles, transformers, and temple-related structures affecting the alignment. He expressed concern over delays in execution despite the completion of preliminary works and sought explanations from the contractor and concerned officials. He instructed them to complete the project without further delay.
The Commissioner also reviewed the proposed 80-foot-wide road from Vepagunta to Juttada and discussed issues related to defence land along the route. He directed officials to resolve the matter at the earliest to avoid hindrances to the project timeline.
Pendurthi Zonal Commissioner H. Shankara Rao and other officials were present during the inspection.
