GVMC initiates process for Endada-Panorama Hills road widening

Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg on Thursday directed officials to initiate the process of widening the Endada-Panorama Hills road to 60 feet, in accordance with the city’s Master Plan. The project is expected to ease traffic congestion and improve infrastructure connectivity in the rapidly developing Madhurawada zone.

Accompanied by Madhurawada Zonal Commissioner Ayyappa Naidu, Mr. Garg inspected the road stretch identified for development by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA).

During the inspection, the Commissioner instructed the Assistant City Planner to conduct a comprehensive survey of the proposed alignment. He emphasised that the exercise should be carried out transparently to identify all properties likely to be affected by the road widening.

Mr. Garg directed officials to prepare a detailed inventory of government and private structures, as well as vacant plots, falling within the proposed corridor. He also called for thorough verification of property titles, ownership records, and other relevant documents to ensure transparency and prevent future disputes.

Stressing the importance of public participation, the Commissioner instructed officials to conduct awareness programmes for property owners whose lands or structures may be affected by the project. He said the outreach initiative should highlight the long-term benefits of the road widening in improving traffic flow and supporting the city’s future growth.

Town Planning Officer Tejeswara Rao and other municipal officials were present during the inspection.

The GVMC is expected to expedite the required procedures to take the project forward, which is regarded as a key infrastructure initiative for easing congestion and enhancing civic infrastructure in the fast-growing Madhurawada corridor.
