Collector Directs Time-Bound Clearance of Industrial Permits
District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore has asked officials to speed up approvals for new industries, making it clear that no application should be left pending at any stage and that all permits must be cleared within the stipulated time.
The directions came at a meeting of the District Industries Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) held at the Collectorate on Friday, where the Collector took stock of industry set-ups, investment promotion, entrepreneurs’ complaints and pending approvals.
Mr Kishore said officials needed to move beyond ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and work towards ‘Speed of Doing Business’, asking departments to coordinate better to cut delays. Applications filed through the Single Desk portal, he said, should be processed on priority, especially those involving companies and projects of importance to the government.
He also asked that registration and sale deed formalities for companies coming up under the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) be completed faster.
The Collector flagged around 12 acres of APIIC land near Tunglam, sandwiched between railway lines, and said it should be freed up for industrial use at the earliest. He sought quicker cooperation from railway officials to make this possible.
He also pressed for faster progress on Nano Parks and MSME parks, particularly those planned for the city’s North and South constituencies, and asked officials to show visible movement on the ground.
Mr Kishore told officials to ensure incentives due to industries are sanctioned without delay, and to work towards generating jobs under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). He also sought a status check on companies that have received SIPB approval and signed MoUs, so that follow-up action could be taken wherever required.
Earlier, representatives of several companies raised issues concerning their units directly with the Collector. Mr Kishore heard them out and directed officials of the District Industries Centre (DIC) and APIIC to look into the complaints and act on them. He also wanted grievances filed through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) to be resolved quickly.
DIC General Manager V. Adiseshu and APIIC Zonal Commissioner Simhachalam attended the meeting, along with officials from the GVMC, VMRDA, the Railways and other departments, besides representatives of various industries.
