Aditya Varma assumes charge as ITDA PO in Paderu
IAS officer Aditya Varma on Saturday assumed charge as Project Officer of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency, Paderu, in Alluri Sitharama Raju district, outlining a focused agenda on strengthening welfare delivery, improving education and expanding livelihood opportunities for tribal communities.
He took over from Tirumani Sripuja, who has been transferred and posted as Joint Collector of the district.
Speaking after assuming charge, Mr. Varma said his immediate priority would be to ensure effective implementation of all government welfare schemes and that the benefits reach every eligible tribal household without delay. He stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in service delivery.
Highlighting education as a key area, he said steps would be taken to improve learning outcomes in tribal schools by strengthening infrastructure, ensuring teacher availability and promoting student retention. He also underlined the need to enhance access to quality healthcare services, particularly in remote and interior habitations.
Emphasising skill development, Mr. Varma said targeted programmes would be introduced to equip tribal youth with employable skills aligned with market needs. “Creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for unemployed youth will be a major focus area,” he noted, adding that self-employment and entrepreneurship initiatives would also be encouraged.
He further said that he would undertake regular field visits to tribal villages to gain first-hand understanding of grassroots issues. Grievance redressal mechanisms would be strengthened to ensure quicker resolution of public concerns.
Officials of the agency welcomed the new Project Officer and expressed confidence that his tenure would bring renewed focus to development initiatives in the tribal belt.
