ADRM reviews train cleanliness, counsels staff
Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) K. Rama Rao conducted a surprise inspection of the Visakhapatnam–Mahbubnagar Express on Thursday to assess service quality and passenger amenities. The inspection included checks on coach cleanliness, linen availability and condition, and passenger behavior. of onboard housekeeping staff.
The ADRM engaged with cleaning workers during the journey and emphasized the importance of polite communication with passengers. He directed staff to ensure berths, toilets, and common areas were cleaned regularly, and to respond quickly to complaints about linen supply and hygiene. Officials stated that the goal of the inspection was to reinforce accountability among staff and improve passenger satisfaction.
Following the inspection, a counselling session was held at Visakhapatnam railway station for onboard housekeeping service teams, supervisors, and health inspectors. The session highlighted best practices in service delivery, including maintaining dignity in interactions, timely complaint resolution, and adherence to hygiene standards.
Railway authorities said such inspections will be carried out periodically to review performance and identify gaps in service delivery. They added that continuous monitoring and counselling are key to improving the onboard experience for passengers and ensuring consistency in standards across trains.
