Andhra Pradesh eyes global role in quantum manufacturing: Naidu
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday said the State is building a robust quantum ecosystem aimed at positioning itself as a manufacturing base for quantum computing equipment for the global market.
Speaking at a World Economic Forum (WEF) roundtable during the India AI Impact Summit on the theme Competitiveness through Artificial Intelligence, Mr. Naidu said the government plans to leverage sovereign AI, described as indigenous AI infrastructure, to ensure that technology-driven benefits reach every citizen.
He noted that Andhra Pradesh is intensifying the adoption of deep technologies across sectors and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to nurturing a comprehensive quantum ecosystem. The Chief Minister expressed optimism that the proposed Amaravati Quantum Valley, envisioned as a future-ready innovation cluster, would soon draw international attention.
Mr. Naidu also said the entry of global technology leaders, including Google, would accelerate Visakhapatnam’s emergence as a major AI hub in the coming years.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push for a human-centric and secure AI framework, the Chief Minister said India is moving decisively to harness AI’s transformative potential. He added that Andhra Pradesh is aligning its policies and investments to capitalise on the AI revolution.
In a post on social media, Mr. Naidu said he was pleased to participate in the WEF discussion, where he shared his views on strengthening global competitiveness and advancing shared prosperity through AI.
