Andhra Pradesh signs seven MoUs to boost Quantum, AI ecosystem
The Andhra Pradesh government made significant strides in promoting emerging technologies by signing seven Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on Friday. These agreements aim to enhance skills development and build infrastructure in quantum computing and artificial intelligence.
The signing ceremony took place at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, attended by senior officials and partner organizations. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was present at the event.
Officials stated that these MoUs will accelerate Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to become a hub for quantum computing and AI. They emphasized the vision of developing Amaravati into a globally recognized “Quantum Valley,” while focusing on research, infrastructure, and talent development.
As part of these collaborations, UNICC will establish a Centre of Excellence in Quantum Computing and AI in Amaravati. IBM will spearhead skilling initiatives aimed at training 100,000 youth in quantum computing, AI, and cybersecurity. Additionally, NIELIT will advance plans for a Quantum AI Deemed University.
A consortium consisting of Bharat Gen, NexGen, and IBM is set to develop a state-level indigenous AI technology hub and stack. Furthermore, Calibo AI will help launch AI Academies and AI Sandboxes across 50 higher education institutions. Vizer plans to set up another Centre of Excellence in Amaravati, and IIT Madras will introduce an AI Tutor program for students in both government and private schools.
Officials noted that these initiatives will enhance advanced technology education and foster innovation. They anticipate that the programs will create a future-ready workforce that meets global industry demands. The event was also attended by dignitaries such as UNICC Director Sameer Chauhan, IBM India Managing Director Sandeep Patel, and IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti.
