AP Aims for Global Leadership in Industry 5.0
Andhra Pradesh is aiming to become a global leader in the next industrial revolution, leveraging a strategic India–Europe partnership to drive Industry 5.0, said T.G. Bharath, the State’s Minister of Industries and Commerce. Speaking at the CII India–Europe Business Partnership Roundtable on Thursday, part of the 30th Partnership Summit-2025, he highlighted the convergence of technology, talent, and trust as the foundation for future industrial growth.
“Industry 5.0 is not merely an extension of Industry 4.0; it is a transformative approach that demands responsible industrialisation and human-centric innovation,” Mr. Bharath said. He pointed to India’s strengths in automation and AI-driven manufacturing and Europe’s precision engineering, noting that their collaboration could produce groundbreaking results.
Praising the forward-looking leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and IT Minister N. Lokesh, he added that Andhra Pradesh’s Policy 4.0 has strengthened the four pillars of the state’s industrial ecosystem. He also underscored the need to develop green manufacturing corridors and enhance MSME productivity, inviting global partners to help Andhra Pradesh become a living laboratory for sustainable and inclusive innovation.
The session featured speakers including Dr. Edith N. Nordmann, Chairman of the Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce and Trade (NICCT); Amit Gossain, Managing Director, Kone Elevator India Pvt. Ltd.; Håkan Kingstedt, Senior Advisor, Monemus AB; and Dr. Julie Reviere, Country Director, GIZ India. Kamal Bali, Chairman of the CII Multinational Committee and MD & President of Volvo Group India, chaired the session.
Discussions focused on how India’s scale and agility, paired with Europe’s technological expertise, could accelerate smart manufacturing, drive sustainability, and expand private sector collaboration to bridge the technology adoption gap.
