AP, FICCI-FLO Join Hands for Women’s Industrial Park
The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding with FICCI Ladies Organisation (FICCI-FLO) to promote women-led industrial entrepreneurship. Through this initiative, the state will establish an exclusive industrial park for women entrepreneurs.
Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing Minister T.G. Bharath signed the MoU on behalf of the state. Meanwhile, FICCI-FLO national president Poonam Sharma, past national president Ujjwala Singhania, and national governing body member Mourya Boda represented the organisation. APEDB Vice-Chairman and Managing Director M. Abhishikth Kishor also attended the event. In addition, FICCI-FLO Vijayawada Chapter Chairperson Amrita Kumar and Senior Vice-Chairperson Supriya Mallineni were present.
Under the agreement, the government will develop a 30-acre Women Entrepreneurs’ Industrial Park. It will come up under the Andhra Pradesh Policy for Establishment of Private Industrial Parks with Plug-and-Play Infrastructure (2024–29). Notably, the park will cater only to women entrepreneurs who are members of FICCI-FLO. As a result, the project aims to boost enterprise creation, generate jobs, and strengthen financial independence for women.
Mr Bharath said the initiative supports Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s “One Family, One Entrepreneur” vision. Moreover, it complements the government’s plan to set up 175 MSME parks across the state.
FICCI-FLO will mobilise and mentor women entrepreneurs. At the same time, the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) will provide infrastructure, secure approvals, and extend statutory support. Overall, the project highlights the state’s focus on inclusive and women-centric industrial growth.
