APNGOs Seek New Pay Panel, Immediate Relief for Employees
The APNGOs Association on Monday urged the Andhra Pradesh government to immediately set up a new Pay Revision Commission and clear long-pending employee dues, citing growing discontent among staff and retirees.
Addressing the media in Srikakulam after assuming charge as State vice-president in Vijayawada, Rayi Venugopal said employees were awaiting basic financial relief. He flagged delays in releasing dearness allowances and settling pending bills of retired staff as urgent concerns.
Venugopal said the association preferred dialogue over confrontation and understood the State’s fiscal constraints. However, he stressed that employees could not be asked to wait indefinitely. He called for interim relief at the earliest, pointing to the recent Pay Revision Commission measures announced by the Telangana government.
The APNGOs leader received a warm public welcome on his return to Srikakulam. Former State general secretary Chowdary Purushottam Naidu, district president Hanumanthu Sairam, and other association leaders led the reception.
Several employee and social organisations organised a bike rally to mark the occasion. The rally was led by Ambedkar India Mission State vice-president Taekwondo Srinu and drew participation from across the district.
Speaking separately, Purushottam Naidu praised Venugopal’s two decades of work in strengthening the association at the grassroots level. He said Venugopal’s elevation reflected his commitment and was a moment of pride for Srikakulam district.
