ARTRAC Chief Reviews Joint Training and Operations at ENC

Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command (ARTRAC), visited the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) from January 21 to 24, highlighting the focus on jointness and integrated functioning of the armed forces.

During the visit, Lt. Gen. Sharma met Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, ENC, and discussed operational preparedness and training. The talks focused on joint planning and execution, integrated training, and inter-Service synergy.

Discussions also covered coordination between the Army and Navy, including joint exercises, doctrine alignment, and cross-domain understanding. Both commanders stressed seamless cooperation and shared training frameworks for effective responses to emerging challenges.

At ENC Headquarters, Lt. Gen. Sharma received a command briefing on ongoing operational commitments and key infrastructure development projects aimed at strengthening logistics and operational readiness.

The Eastern Naval Command, known as the Sunrise Command, is the Navy’s premier formation on the eastern seaboard and plays a key role in safeguarding India’s maritime interests in the Bay of Bengal and the Indo-Pacific.
