AU to Host Mega Cultural Fest from April 6

Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G. P. Rajasekhar on Saturday announced that the university will organise Mega Cultural Fest–2026 at the AU Engineering College Grounds from April 6 to 8 as part of its centenary celebrations.

Speaking at a press conference at the AU Academic Senate Hall in Visakhapatnam, the Vice-Chancellor unveiled the event poster and teaser. He said the festival would highlight cultural heritage and student talent.

Prof. Rajasekhar said the university had already conducted several sports and technical events during the centenary year. The upcoming festival will now focus on music, dance, and traditional art forms.

The three-day programme will begin on April 6 with a cycling expedition to Bheemili. Students will also take part in a tree plantation drive on the campus. Music bands and a concert will follow in the evening.

The second day will celebrate regional culture. The schedule includes rangoli competitions, performances of the tribal Dhimsa dance, and renditions of classic songs by singers from North Andhra. Students will present several cultural programmes during the day.

The final day on April 8 will feature a walkathon and a blood donation camp. The celebrations will conclude with a laser show and a DJ night.

On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor also launched the Centenary Mahotsav website. The platform will provide updates and schedules for upcoming centenary programmes. Students of Andhra University developed the website as part of the celebrations.

University officials expect large participation from students, alumni, and the public during the three-day event.
