Beef Export Racket Busted, Three Held in Visakhapatnam

The city police have arrested three key accused in a case related to the illegal export of beef through the Visakhapatnam port, revealing a wider international racket.

The accused, including Md. Farhan, owner of MR MISH Overseas Private Limited, and two meat suppliers, were arrested in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. They allegedly slaughtered cows across the country and exported the meat overseas under false declarations.

A total of 1,89,737 kg of illegally stored meat was seized, with laboratory tests confirming that it was cow and bull meat. The accused fabricated documents to export the beef as buffalo meat. The police have formed special teams to investigate further and track down other suspects.

The case was registered under the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act, 1977, and other sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The seized meat will be destroyed as per legal procedures.
