Bheemili MLA Promises Govt Land for Artists’ Training Centre
Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao has assured the artistic community that government land will be allocated for the establishment of a dedicated training center for artists, with a permanent building to be constructed at the site.
During a meeting with the Uttarandhra Nava Chaitanya Kala Natya Welfare Association at Mudasarlova Park, Mr. Ganta explained that the proposal was initiated during the TDP government’s tenure from 2014 to 2019, when suitable government land was identified in the Bheemili constituency for this purpose.
The objective is to provide structured training facilities and institutional support to traditional and folk artists from North Andhra. Mr. Ganta also highlighted that the current coalition government is offering incentives to artists, including special pensions, to ensure financial security and dignity for those engaged in cultural activities.
He congratulated the art troupe that performed a piece illustrating the struggles of a farming family awaiting rainfall, stating that the presentation effectively conveyed the hardships faced by rural communities. Mr. Ganta emphasized that art has the power to raise awareness and foster empathy regarding pressing social issues.
Additionally, he assured the association members that he would address their concerns with the government and work towards resolving any issues faced by artists, provided these are formally brought to his attention.
The meeting concluded with the felicitation of the newly elected executive committee of the association. Speakers expressed optimism that the proposed training center will enhance cultural activities in the Uttarandhra region.
