Blue Jet Healthcare to invest Rs 2,300 crore in Atchutapuram SEZ unit
Blue Jet Healthcare Limited will set up a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in the Achyutapuram Special Economic Zone (SEZ) with an investment of Rs 2,300 crore. The company will lay the foundation stone on February 28 at 10 a.m.
State IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh is expected to attend the ceremony, officials said.
The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has allotted 102.48 acres to Blue Jet Healthcare Limited in Phase 2 of the SEZ, located within Rambilli mandal. APIIC Achyutapuram SEZ Deputy Zonal Manager Koondrapu Suryanarayana said the District Collector and several Ministers are also likely to attend.
Officials believe the project will strengthen the region’s pharmaceutical manufacturing base. The new facility will expand the cluster of pharma and chemical industries in and around Achyutapuram.
Company representatives said the unit could create jobs for around 5,000 people. Employment will include both direct and indirect roles. Additional opportunities may arise in logistics, maintenance, and support services.
Industry observers noted that large investments often improve local infrastructure. Roads, utilities, and warehousing typically see upgrades. They also expect higher demand for housing and retail in nearby Parawada.
The Achyutapuram Special Economic Zone continues to attract investments across pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and allied sectors. The Blue Jet Healthcare project is expected to add further momentum.
