CM Chandrababu Naidu Lauds Landmark GST Reforms as Pro-Poor and Growth-Driven
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the new GST reforms, which revise tax slabs across daily essentials, education, healthcare, and agriculture. In a message on X Wednesday night, he described the move as “pro-poor and growth-oriented” and said it would benefit farmers, businesses, and all sections of society. Mr. Naidu congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling the reforms a strategic and citizen-centric advancement of India’s tax system.
IT Minister Nara Lokesh termed the reforms a historic step towards a simpler, growth-oriented tax regime. As Education Minister of Andhra Pradesh, he specifically welcomed the reduction of GST on maps, charts, pencils, sharpeners, and exercise books, noting that it would ease financial burdens on families and support a knowledge-driven economy.
Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Finance Minister, highlighting the relief provided to the poor, middle class, farmers, and healthcare sector. He welcomed the complete removal of GST on education and insurance, calling the reforms a “true Diwali gift” following the earlier hike in the Income Tax exemption limit.
