CM Pushes Education, Housing and Welfare Reforms

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday urged a revamp of college curricula to meet contemporary needs. Speaking at a Secretariat review meeting, he said higher education must include demand-driven courses alongside traditional programmes, with updated and relevant content.

He stressed that universities like Andhra University must improve national and global rankings, directing the Higher Education Council and Education Department to lead reforms.

On public welfare, Mr. Naidu called for zero complaints in the mid-day meal scheme and asked sports authorities to boost fitness and health awareness among youth. He emphasised the efficient implementation of government programmes to ensure benefits reach citizens.

On road safety, he urged preventive measures, helmet awareness, and traffic rule compliance. Responding to lightning incidents during heavy rains, he directed location-specific alerts and field-level monitoring.

Reviewing housing, the Chief Minister asked officials to speed up TIDCO house completion and deliver an additional five lakh homes. He noted nearly two lakh people are awaiting allotments and stressed strict monitoring to prevent extra sand charges, as sand is provided free.

Later, Mr. Naidu launched the ‘Aware 2.0’ mobile app developed by RTGS to enhance citizen engagement.
