Collector conducts surprise inspection of govt. hospitals

District Collector M. N. Harendhira Prasad on Tuesday said that providing quality medical services to patients should remain the primary objective of government hospitals. He conducted a surprise inspection of the Government Regional Eye Hospital and the Government TB and Chest Hospital to review the functioning of the institutions.

During the visit, the Collector reviewed the medical services being provided and the facilities available to patients. He examined the availability of essential medicines, the attendance of doctors and supporting staff, sanitation, and the overall maintenance of the hospital premises. He also enquired about the utilisation of modern medical equipment and discussed how it could be effectively used to improve diagnosis and treatment.

The Collector interacted with patients and attendants to seek feedback on the treatment being provided and the facilities available. He instructed officials to ensure regular supervision and monitoring so that patients do not face inconvenience and receive timely and improved services.

Stressing the need to strengthen public confidence in government hospitals, he urged doctors and staff to perform their duties with a sense of responsibility and commitment to patient welfare.

Chest Hospital Superintendent Dr. Sunil Kumar, Regional Eye Hospital Superintendent Dr. Meenakshi, APMSIDC Executive Engineer Naidu, along with other medical officers, doctors, and staff, were present during the inspection.
