Collector seeks fast disposal of regularisation cases
District Collector M. N. Harendhira Prasad on Saturday asked revenue officials to speed up the disposal of pending applications under the State government’s regularisation programme and ensure time-bound distribution of pattas.
Reviewing the progress of the scheme at a meeting at the Collectorate, the Collector directed officials to remove field-level bottlenecks and scrutinise all pending cases. He said pattas in eligible cases should be kept ready for distribution by February 18, while the remaining applications should be resolved by March 31.
Emphasising transparency in the process, he instructed officials to issue notices to beneficiaries who had occupied government land without authorisation and had taken up construction or cultivation, clearly indicating their pending dues. Special attention was sought for applications involving partial payments. He also asked officials to step up awareness among applicants whose payments were still pending.
The Collector said applicants who had applied under GO 388 but had not paid any amount should be removed from its purview and advised to submit fresh applications under GO 30.
In the Gajuwaka area, officials were asked to prepare nearly 1,000 pattas approved under GO 45 and keep them ready for distribution by February 18.
He also directed officials to expedite the issuance of conveyance deeds under GOs 296 and 388, with a target of completing about 2,000 deeds by the end of March. Pending work in this regard should be completed at least at a preliminary stage by the end of this month.
The Collector also reviewed issues relating to Urban Land Ceiling lands under GOs 84 and 27 and issued directions on the de-notification of government lands under Section 22A.
