Collector seeks faster infra works in industrial areas
District Collector M. N. Harendhira Prasad has directed departments to fast-track infrastructure development in key industrial hubs, including Autonagar, Madhuravada Industrial Area, and IT parks, to enhance worker commuting facilities. This directive came during the District Industrial Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) meeting held at the Collectorate.
Industries Department General Manager V. Adiseshu briefed the committee on progress made regarding earlier agenda points. The Collector emphasized the urgent need to ensure uninterrupted drinking water, improved road connectivity, reliable power supply, and other essential amenities across all industrial zones in the district.
He instructed officials to coordinate with police for effective traffic management and ordered the Roads & Buildings Department to complete the Gajuwaka and Autonagar Road Over Bridge by the first week of June. Prasad also called for immediate repairs to low-hanging power cables affecting several blocks in Autonagar.
Responding to concerns raised by the AILA Chairman over water scarcity in the Kancharapalem Industrial Estate, the Collector asked the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) to take swift remedial measures. He urged the Industries Department to boost PMEGP-supported ventures, raise awareness about new electric auto norms, and support youth entrepreneurship initiatives.
Further, he directed APIIC officials to ensure that industries occupying allotted plots commence operations within six months or face official notices. The Collector also reviewed schemes like the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, plans for the Nano Park and MSMC Parks, and instructed officers to assist workers displaced from Synergy in securing jobs within MSME Parks.
