Collector sets January deadline for encroachment regularisation

Visakhapatnam District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad directed revenue officials to clear all pending encroachment regularisation applications by the end of January.

He was speaking at the Visakhapatnam and Bheemili Revenue Conference held at the Collectorate on Saturday.

The Collector emphasised the need to improve public awareness of government orders related to land matters. He instructed Tahsildars to brief field staff and the public on key G.Os, including G.O. No. 45 applicable to Gajuwaka, G.O. No. 27 under the Urban Land Ceiling Act, and G.O. No. 296 on conveyance deeds.

Referring to the Encroachment Regularisation Scheme 2025 under G.O. No. 30, Mr. Prasad asked officials to speed up the processing of applications. He said all pending cases must be disposed of within the stipulated timelines.

Reviewing land regularisation, re-survey, and housing-related matters, the Collector called for better coordination among revenue departments to ensure faster resolution of land-related grievances.

He also reviewed the progress of land acquisition for key infrastructure projects, including the Metro Rail project, Master Plan roads, land pooling schemes, and VMRDA layouts. He directed officials to avoid procedural delays and take strict action against illegal shops.

Joint Collector K. Mayur Ashok, Revenue Divisional Officers Sudhasagar of Visakhapatnam and Sangeeth Madhur of Bheemili, the Deputy Director of the Survey Department, Tahsildars, and other revenue and survey officials attended the meeting.
