Collector’s Compassion: Helping a Differently-Abled Citizen in Person

District Collector S. Ramsunder Reddy won appreciation on Monday for his compassionate approach during the PGRS programme at the district collectorate, personally assisting a differently-abled resident who had come seeking help.

Pothuraju Sabbavara, from Uttarapalli village in Newvalasa mandal, arrived at the collectorate with a grievance but faced difficulty moving around. Noticing him struggling at the portico, the collector immediately went to him, received his application, and patiently listened to his concerns.

Understanding the urgency of the matter, the collector instructed officials to examine it promptly. A wheelchair was arranged for Pothuraju, and he was escorted to the PGRS venue, ensuring he could participate in the programme comfortably.

On the occasion, the collector emphasized the administration’s commitment to citizens, particularly differently-abled residents, and urged officials to maintain a proactive approach in resolving grievances. His gesture was widely seen as an example of hands-on governance that goes beyond paperwork to directly touch lives.
