DMC to Invest $250M in Visakhapatnam Data Centres
Ireland-based technology company DMC has announced plans to set up state-of-the-art data centres in Visakhapatnam, marking a major boost to Andhra Pradesh’s digital infrastructure. The company will invest USD 250 million (around Rs 2,000 crore) in the project, which is expected to drive technological growth in the region.
The initiative is projected to create 14,000 jobs, supporting skill development and innovation across the state. Officials say it also signals growing global interest in Andhra Pradesh as a hub for digital enterprises.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project was signed yesterday. Speaking to the media people during the CII Partnership Summit, DMC CEO Joe highlighted the company’s commitment to the region.
“Our investment in Visakhapatnam reflects DMC’s confidence in the region’s potential to become a global digital hub. With robust infrastructure and strong government support, we believe Andhra Pradesh can emerge as a leading destination for data-driven enterprises,” Mr. Joe said. Satwik Murari, the project coordinator, was also present at the briefing.
