DRM Lalit Bohra Leads Swachhta Hi Seva Drive at Vizianagaram Railway Station
Divisional Railway Manager of Waltair, Lalit Bohra, on Thursday highlighted the importance of the Swachhta Hi Seva – Shramdaan initiative, noting that it aligns with Indian Railways’ Ek Din – Ek Ghanta – Ek Saath programme. The initiative aims to promote cleanliness, sanitation, sustainability, and the wellbeing of all railway stakeholders.
Mr. Bohra spoke during a major cleanliness drive at Vizianagaram Railway Station, which brought together passengers, railway staff, and members of the local community. He urged citizens to take active responsibility for a cleaner and healthier future.
The programme saw strong participation from senior officials, including Senior Divisional Engineer (Coordination) A.K. Moharana, Senior Divisional Operations Manager A. Avinash, and Senior Divisional Engineer (East) Sairaj. Many other officers, station staff, employees, and their family members also joined, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the initiative.
During the event, Mr. Bohra administered the Swachhta Pledge and led the shramdaan at the station. He emphasized that the campaign is not just about visible cleanliness but also about adopting hygiene and sanitation as lifelong values and daily habits.
“Together, we can build a cleaner, safer, and healthier Railway for all,” he said, underlining the importance of personal responsibility and community engagement in achieving lasting sanitation goals.
The drive not only improved the station’s environment but also highlighted the power of collective action in promoting public health and sustainability.
