E-Office system to go live at AMC, KGH from January 16

In a move aimed at speeding up administration and improving transparency, the State government will roll out the e-Office system at Andhra Medical College and King George Hospital from January 16.

The digital platform is intended to reduce delays in file movement and strengthen accountability. As part of the groundwork, four training programmes were conducted for ministerial staff, covering 22 employees from Andhra Medical College and 67 from KGH. Staff members were provided with user IDs and digital signatures and trained in online file processing.

To support the transition, authorities have procured 53 new computers and six scanners. Hospital Administrator B.V. Ramana has been supervising the arrangements and guiding staff on digital file forwarding and secure storage after disposal. He said all preparations had been completed and the system was ready for launch. He added that training sessions helped clear staff doubts and operational issues.

Officials said the e-Office system would help curb long-pending files and irregular practices, especially in financial matters. Under the new system, officials will be required to explain delays beyond the stipulated time, while senior officers can track file movement and status in real time. The shift to paperless administration is also expected to reduce costs and improve overall efficiency in service delivery.
