GITAM aims for global top 100 status, says M Sribharath
GITAM President and Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharath announced that GITAM Deemed to be University is steadily progressing towards becoming a knowledge-driven institution founded on principles of honesty and compassion. He expressed the university’s ambition to rank among the world’s top 100 universities in the coming years.
While addressing alumni during the GITAM Homecoming Alumni 2025 event on Saturday, Mr. Sribharath emphasized that the university’s roadmap is aligned with emerging trends in higher education, particularly in the AI-driven era. He highlighted that GITAM is equally focused on advancing research and enhancing teaching methods to cater to the learning needs of the younger generation.
GITAM Vice-Chancellor Prof. Eroll D’Souza stated that the university is expanding opportunities for students by regularly reviewing its curriculum. He noted that efforts are being made to ensure that academic programs closely align with industry requirements. He encouraged alumni to actively engage with the university and support its ongoing transformation.
Several distinguished alumni were honored during the event in recognition of their achievements and contributions. Cultural performances by students contributed to the celebratory atmosphere.
GITAM Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Y. Gouthama Rao launched the GITAM Alumni Association, Visakhapatnam Chapter, and commended its members for their active involvement. Alumni Relations Deputy Director P. Navin, Student Life Associate Dean Arun Karthik, and others were also present.
The day-long program included a Student Tech Expo, a business meeting, alumni sports events, and campus tours. The celebrations concluded with a year-end gathering aimed at rekindling memories and strengthening ties between the university and its alumni.
