GITAM Students Showcase Innovative Tech Projects

Students of the School of Engineering at GITAM Deemed to be University showcased a range of technology-based innovations developed as part of the Technology Exploration and Product Engineering (TEP) course.

Over 150 projects were evaluated, with 32 shortlisted for presentation before industry and academic experts. The projects demonstrated practical orientation and integration of interdisciplinary engineering concepts, with students working with microcontrollers, sensors, and modern fabrication techniques.

Notable projects included a gesture-controlled assistive robot for bedridden and paralysed patients, a Smart Walker for senior citizens and orthopaedic patients, and an IoT-based Smart Humidifier.

Director of GITAM School of Technology Prof. Nagendra Prasad, Core Engineering Director Prof. Bharani Chandra Kumar and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Rejeswara Reddy appreciated the students’ innovative thinking and hands-on skills, with prizes and certificates awarded to the best-performing teams. The projects showcased the students’ ability to apply engineering concepts to real-world problems.
