Google Data Center Foundation Set for Tarluwada

The government has stepped up arrangements for the foundation-laying ceremony of the Google Data Center at Tarluwada in Anandapuram Mandal, scheduled for April 28. The event is expected to draw nearly 50,000 people, including central and state ministers and representatives from Google. Around a thousand buses are being deployed to manage the crowd.

“Through this large-scale event, we aim to show industrial investors that Andhra Pradesh provides a favourable environment for major investments,” said a senior official overseeing the preparations.

In preparation for the ceremony, the Neelakundilu–Vizianagaram road is being widened to 60 feet, extending up to the village Skill Development Center. Officials have also inspected multiple locations for a helipad. “The Skill Development Center grounds appear most suitable for the helipad,” the official said.

Of the 316 acres acquired in Tarluwada, 266.6 acres have been allotted to Google, while the remaining 51 acres will be developed for other companies. Land leveling for the Google portion is already underway, while APIIC will handle development of the rest. “The Neelakundilu–Vizianagaram road is also included in the master plan for widening to 150 feet to support upcoming industrial activity,” the official added.

Authorities have also finalised land allocations for farmers who gave land for the project. “Thirty acres have been earmarked for the farmers, and field-level marking has been completed,” the official said.
