Great Vizag Shopping Festival-2025 Opens in Visakhapatnam
The four-day ‘Great Vizag Shopping Festival-2025’ opened on Thursday at AU Engineering College, attracting shoppers, families, and culture enthusiasts. Part of the government’s ‘Super GST – Super Savings’ initiative, the festival blends trade fairs, cultural performances, and entertainment, offering a platform for local entrepreneurs and artisans.
Organised by the district administration, the event aims to promote GST awareness, support small and medium enterprises, and encourage citizen participation in the formal economy. Visitors enjoyed vibrant performances showcasing Andhra Pradesh’s rich heritage in dance, music, and art.
Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad inaugurated the festival, highlighting the potential of GST 2.0 under the Swarna Andhra vision. “GST 2.0 is a game-changer, much like the LPG reforms of the 1990s. This festival will boost local trade, promote GST awareness, and celebrate Visakhapatnam’s entrepreneurial and cultural spirit,” he said.
The festival features 66 stalls across sectors including automobiles, electronics, furniture, food, and self-help groups. It is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm until October 19.
Visitors praised the event for combining modern trade offerings with traditional arts, creating a unique shopping and cultural experience. The Great Vizag Shopping Festival-2025 is emerging as a landmark event, reinforcing Visakhapatnam’s role as a hub for commerce, culture, and community engagement.
