Guidelines issued for revision of land market values
The State government will revise land market values upward from February 1 and has now set a clear schedule for completing the process.
Earlier, the government announced the implementation date. However, officials from the Registration Department flagged time constraints. Therefore, the government introduced a structured step-by-step procedure.
First, Sub-Registrars will prepare location-wise reports. They will specify the proposed increase in market values in their jurisdictions. They must submit these reports to the district-level committee by January 24.
Next, the committee will scrutinise the proposals. It will then display the proposed values on notice boards at Sub-Registrar offices. In addition, officials will upload the details on the official website. The public can submit objections and suggestions from January 25.
Meanwhile, officials will complete data entry of the revised values. They will also keep the records ready for checklist review and verification. The authorities will accept objections until January 29. Subsequently, they will hold discussions on the feedback on January 30.
Finally, the district-level committee will meet again on January 31. It will then finalise the revised market values. The new rates will take effect from February 1.
Registration Department DIG (Visakhapatnam) Balakrishna said all Sub-Registrars in the district must attend the committee meeting with their proposals on revised land values.
