Helping Hands programme launched to ease hospital services in Parvatipuram
Parvatipuram-Manyam, District Collector N. Prabhakar Reddy, officially launched the “Helping Hands” program at the Parvatipuram Area Hospital on Tuesday. This initiative aims to provide smooth and hassle-free services for patients and their attendants.
In a media address, the Collector explained that trained volunteers would assist patients and their families at all 12 area hospitals and community health centers across the district. The program was initiated after a successful trial run at Saluru Hospital.
Mr. Prabhakar Reddy noted that volunteers from various organizations, including the Indian Red Cross Society, Rotary Club, Lions Club, and senior citizens’ welfare associations, have stepped forward to dedicate their time to helping patients. He emphasized that many patients and their attendants, particularly from tribal communities, often struggle to access hospital services. Volunteers stationed at help desks will guide them in meeting the appropriate doctors and availing themselves of necessary services.
The Collector also mentioned that volunteers who complete one month of service will receive certificates. Parvatipuram MLA Bonela Vijaya Chandra assured support from TDP activists for the program. Following the launch, the Collector and the MLA reviewed ongoing developmental works at the Parvatipuram Area Hospital.
