HSL Expands Industry Partnerships at Defence Conclave

Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) showcased its capabilities and expanded its industry outreach at the National Defence Industry Conclave held on March 19–20 at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi.

The conclave, a key platform for defence leaders, policymakers, industry players, and MSMEs, focused on strengthening India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem. HSL’s booth attracted significant footfall from vendors and MSMEs across the country, leading to active discussions and opening up new opportunities for strategic partnerships in both ongoing and upcoming projects.

HSL Chairman and Managing Director, Capt G. Venkateswarlu, along with senior officials, engaged with stakeholders during the event to reinforce the company’s industry connect. The HSL pavilion also received a visit from Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, where the team highlighted initiatives to expand vendor participation and explore future collaborations.

The shipyard also contributed to technical sessions at the conclave. Commodore Rohit Gaur (Retd), Senior Chief Project Superintendent, spoke on defence maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) and lifecycle support, emphasizing the growing role of MSMEs in the sector. General Manager Sadasiva Rao outlined collaboration opportunities in shipbuilding, modular construction, refits, upgrades, and export-oriented platforms.

HSL reiterated its commitment to strengthening indigenous capabilities, deepening industry partnerships, and contributing to India’s maritime defence ecosystem in line with the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision.
