Mission to Walk Launched in Visakhapatnam with AI-Powered Exoskeleton Demo
On World Spinal Cord Injury Week, The Ability People at Dabagardens, Visakhapatnam, launched the Mission to Walk initiative, featuring a live demonstration of the Exoatelete II exoskeleton with AI integration. The event highlighted how advanced assistive technology can improve mobility and quality of life for people with spinal cord injuries and severe mobility challenges.
The Exoatelete II supports balance, walking, and functional movements such as reaching and grasping. By combining robotics with artificial intelligence, the device adapts to the user’s movements, aiding rehabilitation and enabling greater independence in daily activities.
Spinal cord injuries, caused by accidents or medical conditions, often limit mobility and impact both physical and mental well-being. Exoskeletons like the Exoatelete II help bridge the gap between clinical rehabilitation and real-world functionality, allowing users to regain confidence and enhance their quality of life.
The Mission to Walk initiative also aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with spinal cord injuries and promote the adoption of assistive technologies in healthcare and rehabilitation.
