Naidu urges TDP cadres to champion clean politics, showcase AP progress

Telugu Desam Party national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday rallied party cadres to position TDP as the defining symbol of clean politics in Andhra Pradesh, urging workers to actively showcase the NDA-led coalition government’s record of development and welfare delivery to the electorate.

Speaking at a training programme held at the party’s central office near Mangalagiri, Naidu stressed that leaders and workers must pursue constructive politics — not politics as a profession — if they were to earn the sustained trust of the people at the ballot box.

Underlining the government’s technological ambitions, Naidu drew a parallel between Hyderabad’s rise as a global IT hub and the planned transformation of the new capital. “Amaravati is in for a similar transformation, with quantum computing and other emerging technologies on top of the government’s agenda,” he said, adding that several firms had already committed to manufacturing quantum computers in the capital city. A Quantum Testing Reference Facility, he announced, would be inaugurated on April 14.

On the power front, Naidu took a swipe at the previous administration, saying it had raised electricity tariffs nine times, while the coalition government had brought them down through a true-down mechanism. Under the PM KUSUM scheme, he said, beneficiaries installing rooftop solar systems of up to 2 kW would receive government subsidies and could export surplus power to the grid, turning green energy into a source of household income.

The Chief Minister also highlighted progress on water management, saying comprehensive interventions had raised groundwater levels and filled reservoirs, with irrigation water set to be released for crops from May 15.

Reaffirming TDP’s commitment to inclusive political empowerment, Naidu said the party would champion value-based politics across all sections of society and would roll out a new framework called Ethical Economic Empowerment — or E3 — to institutionalise that vision.
