Naidu’s UAE Visit: Andhra Pradesh Eyes Global Innovation

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s UAE visit is more than just a diplomatic trip. It signals a clear vision: to make Andhra Pradesh a global hub for trade, technology, and innovation.

During meetings with UAE officials, including Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Naidu focused on boosting trade, promoting Artificial Intelligence, and expanding the knowledge economy. He discussed funding startups, sharing best practices through RTGS platforms, and creating partnerships between the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub and Dubai Silicon Oasis. These steps aim to make Andhra Pradesh a center for technological innovation.

Naidu also addressed the Telugu diaspora at Dubai’s Le Meridien Hotel. Residents from the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain attended in large numbers. He highlighted the diaspora’s role in Andhra Pradesh’s growth and praised Telugu professionals like Satya Nadella, who are excelling on the global stage.

The Chief Minister also emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s rising tech ambitions. Plans to bring Google to Visakhapatnam and the creation of the State’s Quantum Valley show a commitment to cutting-edge innovation. Naidu’s vision of nurturing an entrepreneur in every household may seem ambitious, but it reflects a leadership ready to think big.

He noted the UAE’s transition from oil-based to knowledge-driven economies. This is an important lesson for Andhra Pradesh: diversification, innovation, and strategic investment are key to sustainable growth.

This visit highlights a broader strategy. Andhra Pradesh is not just seeking investments. It is positioning itself as a forward-looking State that values talent, encourages entrepreneurship, and leverages its global diaspora. If executed effectively, this approach could redefine the State’s growth trajectory.
