Navy Marathon to Bring 17,000 Runners to Vizag
The Indian Navy will host the tenth edition of the Vizag Navy Marathon on December 14 as part of Navy Day celebrations. This year’s event has drawn over 17,000 registrations, the highest since its inception, across the full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K categories.
The races will begin from Vishwapriya Function Hall on RK Beach. All routes have been mapped along the coastline, offering participants clear views of the city’s beachfront throughout their run.
The full marathon will start at 4:15 am, followed by the half-marathon at 4:30 am. The 10K run will begin at 5:30 am, and the 5K run at 6:00 am. Participants are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their respective start times.
Facilities arranged for runners include parking at Vishwapriya Function Hall, AU Convention Centre and AU English Medium School. Twelve hydration points and medical teams will be stationed along the route. A baggage counter will be available at the venue. All finishers will receive a Naval-themed medal along with breakfast and first-aid support.
The District Administration has issued traffic and safety guidelines for the event. The Navy has urged the public to follow these instructions to ensure smooth conduct of the marathon, which aims to promote fitness, maritime awareness and community participation in Navy Day activities.
